Convalescence Allowance
  Convalescence Allowance


This is a mandatory payment, typically payable once a year in June, July or August at a standard rate for each day of
convalescence allowance credit.  The number of minimum credited days varies from 5 up to 10 days after 20 years service..

• The current minimum rate for each accredited day is 378 NIS (from June 2018)
• Eligibility covers permanent, temporary, part-time and other employees during a preliminary period of employment subject to at least one year’s service;
• Part-time employees receive entitlement proportional to their part-time rate;
• Temporary or preliminary periods of employment are covered;
• Provision of benefit levels above the minimum are not prevalent;
• The terms illustrated above apply to the private sector
